Sussex is well known for its gorgeous scenery white cliffs, pebbly beaches and includes the South Downs National Park. For a great view climb the tallest Cathedral spire in Britain at Salisbury. There’s rolling countryside, busy market towns, amazing botanical gardens, stately homes and gardens. Wiltshire is full of attractions and historical sites possibly the most famous is Stonehenge attracting visitors from all over the world. As Queen Victoria said, “It’s impossible to imagine a prettier spot”, when commenting on her rural retreat on the island, Osborne House, which is now open to the Public. Hunt for fossils under chalk cliffs, catch crabs in rock pools, plus a rich heritage to discover. Just across the Solent is the Isle of Wight where the traditional British seaside holiday is very much alive. There’s walking, cycling, horse riding and water sports, plus a rich military and maritime history as well as historic towns. One of the most popular attractions is the New Forest National Park with a lovely selection of holiday cottages. Let’s start with Hampshire, unspoilt beaches, quaint villages, ancient forests, imposing castles and gorgeous countryside. The variety of things to do and see is enormous and the whole area is perfect for self catering holidays. Southern England includes eight very unique counties all with great reasons to visit.
